The Technical Solutions team enables Datadog's worldwide growth by educating potential clients and ensuring that existing customers are happy and successful. We share our technical and product expertise with customers through demos, presentations, technical evaluations, and ongoing support. Technical solutions is a growing global team that collaborates constantly to share knowledge and continuously advance our technical skillset.

 

The opportunity

You will be the technical sales lead on top tier enterprise accounts running custom product demos and controlled evaluations. You will help influence product roadmap based on customer feedback and competitive intel from deals. You will be challenged to develop your skills through cross team collaboration and personal interest projects, and have access to some of the brightest minds in the market.

 

You will

  • Partner with the sales team to qualify whether an opportunity is a technical fit
  • Present the Datadog value proposition to prospective customers
  • Run tailored demonstrations of the Datadog platform
  • Own the technical engagement throughout the sales cycle. This includes building technical champions, coordinating with product/support teams where applicable, documenting and ensuring technical criteria are met and that risks are surfaced appropriately.
  • Help out on marketing related events such as conferences, webinars, customer sponsored events and more
  • Learn and share from a global team of sales professionals and technical experts through structured courses and self-interest projects.

 

Requirements

  • 3 years in a pre-sales role or DevOps role
  • Scripting experience in Python, Node, Ruby, Java, PHP, Go or .NET
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems in a clear and concise way
  • Good knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g EC2, Kubernetes, GCP, Hadoop etc.)
  • Ability to build an evaluation plan and articulate where failure points could exist
  • Ability to discuss business challenges from technical challenges and vice versa
  • Comfortable in fast paced environment with new challenges daily
  • Be solution focused rather than problem focused

Bonus points:

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Mesos or other container technologies.
  • Experience in systems administration: Windows, Linux
