FINANCIAL ANALYST - TORBRAM LOCATION
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for preparing entries and schedules for various DATA sites as well as performing the initial monthly review and analysis of financial statements for DATA sites. The role is also responsible for the preparation of the annual budgets for these sites with the assistance of the accounting manager and close collaboration with the site managers and production teams. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for the Fixed Asset reporting requirements including reconciling monthly GL balances to JDE Balances, various account reconciliations as well as booking and setting up new assets to begin depreciation. This position is located at our Torbram Road location based in Brampton, ON.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Analysis of monthly Data Financial Statements (Income Statement and Balance Sheet) This includes: Account Analysis of all related balance sheet accounts including Prepaids, Accrued Liabilities, Legal and Audit provisions, Work In progress and RMI reconciliations and allocation, and other miscellaneous Liability accounts.
Statement analysis and result investigation for unusual results Variance analysis of financial statements for various states: results to budget and prior year results as well as month over month fluctuations. Preparation of annual budgets - calculating and forecasting monthly expense/Revenue and allocations. Preparation of other financial reports such as Gross Margin analysis/reconciliation Preparation of several month end journal entries. Working daily and monthly to support operations, sales and IT teams with reporting and information as needed to help them make business decisions. Support back office and Rotary reporting sites as needed to help ensure month end deadlines are met for accounting department. This includes supporting audit and BMO reporting requirements as needed by team. Responsible for the accounting approval and checking of purchase orders and cheques. Book, review and manage finished good inventory reporting
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent designation
CPA Designation or in final levels of certification
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in similar position, ideally within manufacturing
Intermediate computer knowledge MS Office and Accounting software
Strong accounting skills and accounting principals
High attention to details
Ability to solve problems and able to work without close supervision
