Data Programmer Analyst

DATA PROGRAMMER ANALYST Ambassador Location

SUMMARY

The data programming team is primarily responsible for taking customer data and getting it ready for personalized or direct marketing campaigns (data manipulation, cleansing, deduping, etc.). This is done with a number of tools such as Fox Pro, internal utilities and linking to third party software packages. The production programmers are primarily responsible for the development of ongoing customer programs. As the company expands the data programming team will need to automate work flow, automate scheduling and web self-services. This position reports directly to the Data Programming Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

Identify specifications for programming jobs, determine requirements, analyze information to determine outputs

Design database layouts and data structures

Program application programming interfaces to common routines and third-party applications

Convert data from one form to another

Data validation/acceptance and cleansing/mining

Data processing - Address Correction/Hygene, Presort, etc.

Data mining and match code based duplicate removal

Reporting Services - customer facing internal reporting

Run test scenarios and examine output to identify issues

Check functionality of programs

Provide technical support for internal systems

Perform other tasks as assigned

Must have experience with an enterprise scheduler

Key Requirements:

Completion of post-secondary education in computer science

4 plus years programming experience preferably in the direct marketing industry

Process automation, detailed understanding of Data Scrubbing and Cleansing

Must have XML, .NET skill set VB.NET or C# with good database skills

Working knowledge of databases and database tools (FoxPro, SQL server)

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Object oriented design experience

Knowledge of direct mail tools for data presort and/or cleaning such as StreetSweeper, Mail Manager, MatchUp/DoubleTake, etc.
