Staff Accountant - Summer 2017 Intern

  • Help develop complex internal and external financial models to evaluate business strategies, potential acquisitions and other transactions
  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets alongside Manager of FP&A and senior management
  • Prepare and coordinate the monthly variance analysis of actuals vs plan/forecast for all groups and subsidiaries
  • Define, develop, and track KPIs to ensure resources are efficiently allocated and aligned in support of broader business objectives, and make recommendations on process/policy improvements
  • Responsible for special projects and one off request by internal and external customers as they arise
  • Process all vendor bills for the US Head Office in the accounting system ensuring accurate terms, payment method, coding and approvals
  • Weekly review of all approved purchase orders, to ensure correct coding
  • Match vendor bills to purchase orders, research discrepancies, and manage inventory of purchase orders
  • Assist with the weekly payment runs, including the processing of wires and the printing and mailing of checks


  • Pursuing a BA in Finance or Accounting
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong financial analysis background with the ability to analyze financial statements, generate valuation models and prepare forecasts
  • Experience compiling data into a consumable format
  • Strong organizational, project management, detail oriented, analytical and quantitative skills
  • Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to effectively operate independently, across functional lines, and with both internal and external customers
