Linux Firmware - Summer 2017 Intern

Opportunities are available in Los Angeles, Sunnyvale, Dublin, Ireland, Vienna, Austria, Milton Keynes, and Hastings, UK.


  • Design, Develop, Debug and Maintain embedded firmware including Linux application, library, and user level programming
  • Evaluate, integrate, and maintain open source software within an embedded firmware environment
  • Work within the team to coordinate project development within product family development paradigm
  • Coordinate investigation of connectivity issues across multiple products
  • Low-level programming, system architecture, real-time operating systems, device architecture and hardware design


  • Must be pursuing a degree in Engineering, CS, Math or related field
  • 6+ months working with C/C++ programming skills.
  • 6+ months experience in design/implementation of multitasking, event driven firmware using C or C++.
  • 6+ months working with RTOS concepts including task switching, deadlocks, and resource management.
  • 6+ months experience in analyzing issues, diagnose root cause, and suggest corrective actions.
  • Understanding of low power wireless protocol standards
  • Understanding of low power sensors (ex. accelerometer, gyros, temperature, IR based sensors, & etc.)
  • Strong math background
  • Outstanding problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong organizational, project management, detail oriented, analytical and quantitative skills
  • Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to effectively operate independently, across functional lines, and with both internal and external customers
