FPGA Design Engineer

At DAQRI, we take enormous pride in our engineering to deliver the right product. We are tackling some of the toughest challenges in vision software. We are looking for awesome engineers to help us develop bleeding edge technology for our Smart Helmet and HUDs. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter who loves building amazing things by questioning the standard way of doing things.

Responsibilties

  • Interface with electrical, firmware teams to design hardware to evaluate new technologies and features
  • Propose, review, and implement micro-architecture
  • Design and verify systems and IP using Verilog and SystemVerilog
  • Create appropriate test benches prior to hardware availability
  • Perform Synthesis, Place & Route, timing optimizations
  • Perform bring-up, debug, and validation of designs to achieve functional and performance goals
  • Create and execute plans to bring-up, debug, and validate designs

Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of experience developing embedded systems with microcontrollers and microprocessors (ARM)
  • Processor peripheral interfaces (USB, I2C, SPI, storage, high speed serial I/F’s) 
  • Experience with industry-standard protocols (PCI Express, USB, Ethernet, etc.)  
  • Experience with board bring-up and debug of digital hardware 
  • Deploy best-practice design methodologies to achieve reliable, high performance designs 
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills 
  • Constraining for FPGA synthesis 

  • Proficiency with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers is strongly preferred 
  • Proficiency navigating electrical schematic is strongly preferred 
  • Experience with camera-related protocols like MIPI is strongly preferred 
  • FPGA tool flows, Xilinx preferred 

Education

  • MSEE with 5+ years, or BSEE with 7+ years of relevant experience with strong foundations in digital design and communications
