The Clinical Pharmacist in Clinical Geriatrics will focus on converting clinical guidelines, primary literature, prescribing information, and compendia into clinical and regulatory support. This work focuses on supporting clinicians who care for older adults in the long-term care setting.

Responsibilities for this position include :
- Maintaining the consultant pharmacy database of best practice recommendations, tracking changes to the database, and preparing documents related to the database for review by internal and external specialists (including physicians and pharmacists)

- Completing annual review of current resources (e.g., tools, disease-focused treatment algorithms, nursing education slide decks, job aids) for clinical accuracy and relevance
- Using your clinical and written skills to respond to mailbox inquiries from consultant pharmacists for clinical information

This role has the opportunity to work in a hybrid format out of our corporate offices in Buffalo Grove, IL or to work remotely in a work from home capacity from anywhere within the United States.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: 84,500
Maximum: 182,000

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.

Required Qualifications
- Licensed Pharmacist in good standing in state of residence
- 2+ years relevant clinical Pharmacist experience in a geriatric and/or ambulatory care setting OR completion of an ambulatory care residency and 1+ years relevant clinical Pharmacist experience in a geriatric and/or ambulatory care setting
- General knowledge of geriatric concepts and clinical programs that impact the older adult
- Excellent clinical and analytical skills including proficiency in the retrieval and review of evidence-based medical literature.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 5% as needed
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills, including the ability to tailor the message to the specific audience.

Preferred Qualifications
- Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist (BCGP) highly preferred
- Broad knowledge across multiple complex disease states (e.g., infectious disease, neurology, endocrinology, cardiology) and the current landscape of drug therapy.
- Experience in medical writing or content creation for decision-support tools
- Excellent attention to detail in proofreading documents for accuracy, spelling, grammar, and content.
- Experience working on multiple projects as an independent or remote contributor, including the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines for competing projects.
- Confidence in articulating issues and recommendations to management.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Understanding of the health care industry, especially the payer systems, current trends and issues.
- Understanding of Federal and State regulations that affect geriatric patients such as Medicare Part D, Medicare Part B and the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
