Retail Director of Mobility - Communications, Media and Technology

Summary/Objective

The Director of Mobility develops sales strategy, promotions, merchandising and oversees in-store sales for the mobility category

Responsibilities

  • Develop and initiate product strategies to drive revenue growth and deliver greater market share of the category in physical and online stores
  • Responsible for decisions relating to tactical efforts of the product management team including assortment planning, pricing and promotional campaigns
  • Direct assortment planning process ensuring balance and adherence to strategic and financial objectives
  • Establish and maintain effective vendor relationships
  • Improve product offerings by negotiating terms with vendors, including service, price, product quality, markdown allowances, exclusivity, packaging, lead times and returns
  • Analyze inventory and sales trends to develop forecasts for initial orders and product lifecycle buying plan including product exit strategy
  • Partner with marketing and operations teams to develop and execute promotional strategy
  • Work with visual merchandisers to developing merchandise display plans in physical and online stores
  • Be knowledgeable of and anticipate market/business trends and develop a plan for response
  • Participate in cross-functional task forces and projects in other areas of the business, as needed
  • Travel to stores across Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada, as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in product management with a mix of buying, planning and placement

  • Presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross- functional audiences
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Ability to develop strong partnerships
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; a bias for action
  • Analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior executives
  • Knowledge of related retail disciplines such as product management, merchandising, marketing, digital channels and operations
  • Experience working in multi-cultural environments strongly preferred
  • Ability to converse in Spanish strongly preferred
