Description

We are looking for a talented Senior Process Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Engine Business Segment in Jamestown, NY

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Leads the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while leading and co-leading teams.
  • Leads the work for specific projects to create and implement all aspects of a manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.
  • Leads by applying the knowledge or use of manufacturing principles and practices to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Impacts the work by utilizing continuous improvement tools, following the Cummins standards, and leading the development of manufacturing standards and working methods.
  • Leads the communications with and influences key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members.
  • Works with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.
  • Leads the advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices as they are applied to Cummins.
  • Maintains relationships and coaches key stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Ergonomic Fundamentals - Understands ergonomic concepts by applying Cummins ergonomic standards, guidelines, controls and tools to reduce ergonomic risk to employees while at work.
  • Industrial Engineering Knowledge - Integrates the pillars of industrial engineering techniques by applying a comprehensive and quantitative analysis to available data to be used as decision factors for the development or improvement of manufacturing processes to contribute to the most efficient process.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.
  • Optimizes work processes - Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
  • College, university, or equivalent degree required.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
  • Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
  • Responsible for manufacturing and/or quality engineering for the Midbore Assembly Line at the plant.
  • Lead specific projects to create and implement all aspects of manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.
  • Lead the integration of new product platforms (including Cummins' newest fuel agnostic engine platforms) into the assembly line.
  • Lead by applying the knowledge or use of manufacturing principles and practices to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Impact the work by utilizing continuous improvement tools, following the Cummins standards, and leading the development of manufacturing standards and working methods.
  • Lead communications with and influence key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members.
  • Potentially lead and develop a small team of manufacturing/quality technicians.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
