DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Glen Burnie, MD.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Completing repair activities on generators or components
- Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of service
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools

- Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
- High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
- Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision - hands on exposure to working on power generation products. Education, Licenses, Certifications
Apprentice Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Current relevant electrical certification
Locally valid driving permit
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Basic level field service work experience
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with of power generation products
High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience
Customer service experience
• The regular schedule for this position will be 7:00am-3:30pm Mon-Fri. This schedule is subject to change based on business needs.
• This position requires a technical/trade school degree from an accredited program or equivalent work experience.
Qualifications for different technician levels:
(Entry):
- Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators.
- Basic Diesel Engine experience.
- Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality.
(Intermediate):
- Advanced troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.
- Startup and repair of bypass transfer switch.
- Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation.
(Advanced):
- Setup, troubleshoot and repair basic paralleling generator systems.
- Understanding switchgear schematics.
- Able to train Entry/Intermediate Technicians/Mechanics.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position will require a Med-Card and we will also be required to complete a DMV driving report. CANDIDATE MUST BE 21 YEARS OLD.
- A current valid license is required for this role
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
- 3 years driving experience
- This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
Salary Range - $21.44 - $43.85
Business hours are Monday-Friday 7AM-3:30PM pending business needs.
