CSAA Insurance Group – a $3B Property and Casualty insurer headquartered in Walnut Creek, CA – has been insuring AAA members for over 100 years. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who wish to kick-start their career through our 10-week paid summer internship.

As an Intern with our Strategy & Innovation organization, you will:

  • Research and analyze industry trends and competitor moves.
  • Assist with in-flight and planned innovation projects that are intended for market launch.
  • Collaborate with business leads to help define components of our multi-year Strategic Plan.
  • Collect data for analysis and present findings to stakeholders to assist with business decisions.
  • Research key topics that affect our business and how we innovate, and compile insights into publications for internal and external distribution.

Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, methodical, and able to work independently. We seek an individual who is enthusiastic to learn new concepts and committed to self-development. Having a keen analytical mind and a sharp eye for the details is a must, as is the ability to effectively communicate in front of others.

  • Currently a Junior or Senior, pursuing an undergraduate degree from a 4-year university (all majors welcome). Must be graduating within one year of the end of the internship.
  • Demonstrated passion for Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development, and Innovation (e.g., via management consulting, financial services, start-ups).
  • Proven desire for sleuthing answers to tough questions and for finding innovative ways to approach real-world problems.
  • Ability to analyze data to identify trends. Ability to deal with datasets, pivot tables, and deriving conclusions from data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • GPA of 3.0 or better.

Preferred experience:

  • Leadership experience – group projects, extracurricular activities, etc.
  • VBA and other statistical software knowledge encouraged (e.g., SAS, SQL, R, SPSS Basic).
  • Basic understanding of insurance, finance, business frameworks, and marketing.
