Job Summary

Investigates, evaluates, negotiates and settles all complex homeowner losses involving fire, black water, mold and public adjusters. Is the owning adjuster for all claims other than those falling outside their scope of authority. Coordinates task assignments with field adjusters. Acts as team lead and coach/mentor to fellow Homeowner adjusters.

Essential Functions / Principal Responsibilities

  • Investigates, evaluates, negotiates and settles homeowner 1st- and 3rd-party property claims involving fire, black water, mold, earth movement and public adjusters.
  • This includes resolving all questions of coverage associated with the claim.
  • In territories without field staff, will be required to review and adjust contractor estimates.
  • Serves as a team lead, coach and mentor to staff.
  • May be called upon to provide training to staff.
  • Analyzes applicable state's policy and endorsements to determine appropriate coverage.
  • Analyzes claim to determine coverage recommendation.
  • Arranges and handles through conclusion all emergency services required to protect the property from further harm, accommodate the needs of the insured.

Education, Work Experience, Licenses & Certifications


BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Typically 3-5 years claims experience, with 2-3 years homeowner claims experience required.

Ability to acquire DOI adjusting license in the states where required.
