Job Summary

Center or field based employee who works with significant authority on assignments of higher technical complexity and coordination; handles multiple property damage claims, evaluation of subrogation demands from adverse carrier, evaluation of auto & motorcycle damage, negotiation of car damage estimates, out of state losses, and handling of claims coverage issues over the telephone.

Essential Functions / Principal Responsibilities

Independently evaluates, negotiates and settles physical damage and total loss claims along with other suffixes (i.e. loss of use, property damage), which requires physical inspection and evaluation

Negotiates settlement of claim with insured, third party and attorneys

Resolves claims coverage issues

Processes payments appropriately and reviews with supervision beyond authority

Prepares file for authority review with supervisor or manager

May prepare small claims court files and attend hearings; performs on-scene diagrams

This position will have responsibility for the Central CT territory. Qualified candidate must live within 30 miles of territory.

Education, Work Experience, Licenses & Certifications


Knowledge of auto repair estimates and systems

BS/BA, or equivalent experience

Valid Driver's License

Depending on assignment, may be required to obtain and maintain Adjuster's license (state-specific)


Typically 3+ years of claims experience
