The position is responsible for providing CSAA with senior level administration expertise in the area of EMC Enterprise Storage and Backup solutions. Is a recognized expert in Storage and Backup administration who provides guidance and internal consulting to IT teams across the entire organization.
Essential Functions / Principal Responsibilities
Provide ongoing senior level administration functions of the following technologies:
- EMC Block Storage (VMAX3)
- EMC NAS Storage (ISILON)
- NetApp NAS Storage
- EMC Replication (SRDF)
- EMC Avamar and DataDomain
- Monitoring and alerting
- Brocade Switch (SAN)
Drives decisions and priorities regarding system enhancements (software and hardware) that will improve the performance and reliability of the Infrastructure. (keep environment at N-1)
Facilitates the establishment and implementation of operational process standards and guidelines that the team will use to validate consistent and reliable service delivery to the organization.
Consistently focused on Innovative ways to improve the infrastructure supported by our team, focusing not only cost, but also process improvement.
Focused on maintaining and improving the security posture of the Storage and Backup systems along with continuous monitoring of end-to-end service health, and troubleshooting issues that arise.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the configuration, deployment, testing, maintenance, monitoring and trouble-shooting of infrastructure components to provide a secure, high performance environment.
Will serve as technical lead, for the resolution of highly complex problems.
Contributes to the development of procedures and process for routine tasks.
Develops and implements changes though the normal change control processes.
May direct others in accomplishing needed activities.
Creates, updates, maintains technical documentation such as detail drawings of Storage and Backup Solutions
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Participates in rotating on-call support. Responsible for resolution of service outages and other service problems during an on-call period.
On call may occur during standard or non-standard business hours.
Knowledge of basic ITIL framework and processes
Education, Work Experience, Licenses & Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in related area (Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
8+ years IT work experience working in multiple system environments
8+ years Hardware/software installation and troubleshooting
EMC certifications in the area of storage and backup
