Job Information

Typically an inside position located in a Claims center, but may be field-based. Works within significant limits and authority on all assignments involving Recreational Vehicles (RVs), i.e., motor homes, trailers, watercraft, etc. Damages range from minor to those of high technical complexity.

Independently evaluates, negotiates and settles physical damage and total loss for all RV claims, along with other suffixes (i.e. loss of use, property damage).

Negotiates settlement of claim with insured, third party and attorneys.

Resolves claims coverage issues.

Processes payments and reviews with supervision/management beyond authority.

Prepares file for authority review with supervisor or manager.

May prepare small claims court files and attend hearings; performs on-scene diagrams.

Possesses demonstrated technical knowledge and skills relating to RV damage estimating, repair practices and procedures and systems

Ability to work independently and in a team environment, be self-motivated and goal-oriented. Ability to independently manage relationships with shops, peers, suppliers and customers and to ensure performance goals are achieved.

Strong and effective negotiation skills

Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills

Basic math and working computer skills with technical aptitude to utilize a variety of software applications, including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Must be able to create and maintain the necessary reports and information to effectively capture the performance of field staff and independent adjusters

Proficient in utilizing estimating software and systems

Ability to train back-up staff

Ability to build and maintain a nation-wide shop/vendor date base

Ability to interpret policy language and resolve claims coverage questions (CCQs)

Ability to rate condition, run evaluation and to conclude total losses

Ability to work in a flexible, changing environment

Education, Work Experience, Licenses & Certifications


BS/BA or equivalent combination of education and experience

Typically 8+ years of RV experience, preferably with time as both technician and writer

Ability to obtain adjusters license
