Job Summary

This position provides leadership and direction to technical staff supporting CSAA IG's I.T. Systems. Must achieve competency level where they can manage highly skilled technical staff. This position plays a key role in the Information Technology Systems Division's Department management team in bringing current knowledge and expertise to CSAA IG's IT Division.

Essential Functions / Principal Responsibilities

  • Working within information technology standards established by the CIO and the CSAA IG Technology organization, this position provides leadership and direction in their area of responsibility.
  • Manages to departmental budget.
  • Participates in development of standards and evaluates specific technologies, general technology trends, competencies, strategies and methodologies.
  • Manages multiple and/or highly complex IT project teams.
  • Leads technical efforts of project teams involving other managers and/or consultants.
  • May participate in setting short-term strategic direction as well as operational policies for the I.T. Organization.
  • Ultimately responsible for ensuring that Systems and Products are maintained to appropriate quality objectives and are enhanced as directed by the business community, and ultimately meet the customer service standards set by the department.

Demonstrated track record in new concept development for a variety of projects and complex technical plans

Education, Work Experience, Licenses & Certifications

Required:

Bachelor's degree in related area (Computer Science, Engineering, or

Business) or an equivalent combination of education and experience

10 to 15 years experience in a similar technical environment

5+ years management experience in the this IT domain area

Preferred:

Specific project management experience in the insurance arena

Experience in applying in-depth understanding of emerging technologies, business best practices and overall market trends
