R1568 Information Architect (Open)
Primarily accountable for the solution architecture & design for projects and programs for a function (ex: claims) or business (ex: Insurance). Accountable for identifying and verifying appropriate application solution alternatives and driving the entire technical design for the project including functional, integration, data and infrastructure design, and working closely with dedicated resources for each area. Provides strong end-to-end leadership in the definition and build out of solutions as part of project teams. Functions as a lead for Application developers on assigned projects.
Essential Functions / Principle Responsibilities:
Aligns solution architecture with departmental architecture strategy & roadmap, and leverages frameworks & standards.
Accountable for solution architecture & design for projects and programs for a department/division. The deliverables include determining which implementation and reference architectures to use to implement a particular solution.
Drive solution and application design process and hold others accountable for achieving solution scope.
Contributes to the strategy and specifications for architectural frameworks.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience in defining and implementing Distributed Enterprise Component Based Architecture and frameworks to support abstraction
Proficient with industry tools and techniques across multiple areas of technology, applicable to a multi-platform environment
Demonstrated ability to work in a complex organization to determine departmental information systems needs and to build the environment to facilitate the development of systems to meet those needs
Sound knowledge of commercial software packages, tools and the ability to utilize many when architecting solutions
Proven experience with leading data modeling tools and techniques in the information domain, applicable to a multi-platform environment (e.g. Erwin, EDW, ODS, Data Mart, Data Lake, Big Data, Kimball, Inmon, Dimensional, Star, Snowflake, Relational, etc.).
Demonstrated ability to work in a complex organization to determine information systems needs and to facilitate the development of architectures, designs and systems to meet those needs.
Working knowledge of Information and Architecture frameworks such as: Zachman, TOGAF, FEAF.
Working knowledge of architecture principles and facets (e.g. ability to clearly define and articulate - use cases, patterns, capabilities, advantages, disadvantages, risks, implications), and to make justifiable recommendations.
Working knowledge of Information and Data Standards (e.g. Canonical, Domain Contextual, Structural, Reference Data) from organizations such as: ISO, ANSI, FIPS, OASIS, ITU, UPU, IBA, ACORD, IAA/IFW/FS3, CIECA, HRXML, etc.
Working knowledge of Information and Data Governance principles and practices as applied to: transactional data, operational data, analytic data, big data.
Knowledge of Analytic Reporting and BI tools such as SAS, Cognos, DashInsight, Tableau, Splunk to support: deep analytics, predictive analytics, scorecards, and dashboards.
Contextual knowledge of diverse data, content and media types (e.g. structured, relational, audio, video, graphic, geo-mapping, social media, XML, JSON)
Knowledge of Big Data architecture, capabilities, component technology stack (e.g. Hadoop platform, including but not limited to open source components: HDFS, HIVE, HIVE/QL, HBase, Spark, Splunk, Tez, Storm, Knox, Flume, Sqoop, Kafka, etc.).
Knowledge of Elastic Search and supporting technology components is a plus.
Experience with relational DBMS and including SQL, stored procedures, triggers (prefer Oracle, DB2, SQL Server).
Strong presentation and negotiation skills. Ability to collaboratively "get things done". Enjoys a fast-paced, rapid development and proof of concept delivery environment.
Proven levels of expertise in the use of model based development using Information Engineering, Relational Data Modeling, UML and other domain-specific modeling tools.
Vendor experience with leading edge products and technologies from IBM, Oracle, Sun, Microsoft, HortonWorks, Apache and other enterprise-class suppliers
Some experience with advanced analytics strategies including, but not limited to: Natural Language Processing, Ontologies, Controlled Vocabularies, Corpora, Instrumented Events and Telematics, Data Science.
Awareness of big data analytic techniques, and research (e.g. Forests, Trees, Nearest Neighbor, Furthest Neighbor, Recommender Engines, Geo-proximity, Alpha-Beta Pruning, Least Squares, Seasonality, Context Enrichment)
Strong sense of innovation (e.g. internal – optimization, effectiveness and external – use cases, new opportunities to exploit technology capabilities)
Education, Work Experiences, Licenses and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in related area (Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must possess 6 or more years of experience in Information Technology with a heavy concentration in application architecture, integration design, or systems engineering in the most recent three years
5+ years Technical experience in current level for design, execution and deployments
Certification in one or more of: TOGAF, ITIL, Cloud, SOA, Zachman, FEAF, TDWI, or other that is applicable to the domain.
