Job Description:

The Security Shift Lead serves as a leader in Cree’s Security and Emergency Operations program; supervises security officers and protects Cree personnel, property and product; monitors and patrols all local Cree facilities; responds to intrusion, gas or fire alarms, medical emergencies and other requests for assistance; and performs related work as assigned.

                                                               

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of all personnel assigned to shift and ensuring compliance with all security and emergency procedures
  • Completion of training requirements and qualifications in Operations Center functions/procedures within ninety (90) days of hire
  • Conducting training exercises to maintain and improve security officer knowledge and proficiency
  • Responding to all emergencies in accordance with procedures
  • Performing mobile security patrols of all local Cree facilities
  • Ensuring completion of training requirements for all shift personnel
  • Completing periodic checks to ensure compliance with applicable procedures
  • Providing relief for Operations Center personnel, when required
  • Maintaining appropriate documentation for all assigned duties 

Required Skills and Traits:

  • Certification as a Certified Protection Officer or receive designation within 6 months of hire
  • Unwavering honesty and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive matters
  • Commitment to maintaining professional demeanor, with exceptional customer service skills
  • Established self-motivation and ability to motivate others in a positive manner
  • Ability to take initiative and exercise sound judgment in making decisions in high-stress situations
  • Experience managing small teams; capability of establishing a cooperative environment
  • Exceptional level of discipline; capability to lead by example
  • Proven time management skills and high level of personal organization
  • Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Dedication to being a highly dependable team player; ability to maintain schedule flexibility
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate a patrol vehicle in the performance of assigned duties
  • Valid NC driver’s license and a clean driving record 

Desired Skills and Traits:

  • Associate’s degree in security management or criminal justice
  • 2+ years’ experience working as a security supervisor for a large, multi-site organization
  • Experience as a law enforcement officer
  • Knowledge of writing reports and conducting investigations
  • Knowledge of conducting mobile security patrols
