We currently have an opening for a Process Engineer within our LED Chips group. This position will be stationed at our headquarter facility in Raleigh/Durham, NC.
As a member of the LED Chips team, you will become an LED expert. You will not only understand the fundamentals, but will also deliver solutions for our LED products which drive improved performance, reliability and manufacturability. You will get to provide training to other Cree personnel where appropriate to improve overall capabilities of our LED Chips team.
In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for the MOCVD epitaxial growth of III-V based LED products.
We are seeking a resourceful, hands-on, Process Engineer with the capacity to quickly grasp and resolve a wide range of technical challenges. You will own MOCVD reactors and their associated LED manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for a diverse mixture of activities and you will need the ability to focus intensely on one effort without neglecting the rest. To accomplish the goals, a very strong commitment to task is required. You will also need to be flexible in supporting a 24x7 production operation, which will require weekend work and other availability with constant opportunities for problem solving.

- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field.
- 0-10 years experience in semiconductor process or materials development (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills
- US Citizen or Green Card holder
- Thin film deposition or CVD experience (preferred, not required).
- Experience with databases, data analysis and applications development tools (Access, SAS JMP, Excel, Visual Studio, VBA, etc.).
- SPC and Experimental design
- Strong mechanical aptitude/troubleshooting ability
