Job Description

Cree has an opening for a Maintenance Assistant 2nd Shift. This position is located at our Racine, WI location.

 

Maintenance Assistant– Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Cleans, maintains, and performs minor repairs including:
  • Cleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, gears, and bearings
  • Removes dust, dirt, grease and waste materials from machines
  • Dumps and cleans out process tanks
  • Strips and reseals floors
  • Paints machines or equipment; assists in diagnosing problems and repairing machines
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of building
  • Cleans clogged drains and replaces plumbing fixtures

 

Job Summary

Assists Maintenance Mechanic in repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, physical structures, and plumbing by performing the following duties.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to work adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Highly preferred skills and certifications:

  • High school education
  • Six months experience
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
