Global Strategic Account Manager

Job Description

We currently have an opening for a Global Strategic Account Manager, Commercial Properties within our Strategic Accounts team.  Geographically, the position is open provided that the candidate lives in the United States and near a major airport.  The expectation of this position is to drive revenue via solicitation and growth of new and existing Cree Lighting customers.

The primary focus of this position is the development and management of Cree Lighting, Strategic Account end-user customers and select distributors as assigned.  If you thrive in an environment where you are required to formulate and execute business plans, hunt and close high value clients and provide exceptional pre-sales and post-sales support, we need to talk! Visionary understanding of IoT/connected lighting preferred.

  • Achievement of Cree Lighting sales and profit targets.
  • Sales with key Strategic Accounts will be kept clearly in focus and on track.
  • Develop annual business plans for each Strategic Account end user and National Account distributors, as assigned, supported by hard revenue targets.
  • Track and communicate competitive factors, trends, issues and opportunities at regional and national levels.
  • Maintain a strong new business pipeline and relentlessly pursue opportunities to broaden our markets.
  • Maintain Salesforce.com records completely and accurately ensuring proper coordination with factory production.
  • Establish productive, professional and consultative relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts and with associated channel partners.
  • Coordinate the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations. Work closely with Customer Service Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution.
  • Lead solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel.
  • Leverage market knowledge and customer learnings with Engineering leadership to enhance value offering regarding customer Smart Ceiling initiatives
  • Coordination of customer purchases through existing or new distributors and contractors.
  • Engagement with Cree distributors as well as cold calling on potential customers, to grow end-user customer base within the commercial property vertical.
  • This position requires travel nationwide of up to and sometimes above 50%.

What you need for success:

  • 8+ years of sales and management experience (sales and/or key account) in the lighting industry.
  • Demonstrated history of key account sales/business development success.
  • Computer skills - Outlook, Excel, Internet Research, PowerPoint & Salesforce.com
  • Management responsibilities of / for National Account distribution with a minimum of 2 years experience.

Highly preferred skills and certifications:

  • 10+ years of sales and management experience (sales and/or key account) in the lighting industry.
  • Demonstrated history of key account sales/business development success.
  • Demonstrated understanding of IoT and related implications to the lighting category
  • Computer skills - Outlook, Excel, Internet Research, PowerPoint & Salesforce.com
  • Management responsibilities of / for National Account distribution with a minimum of 5 years experience.
