VP, Product Marketing & Research

We are looking for a collaborative, relationship-focused leader to infuse our brand promise throughout our product and marketing channels. You will lead the the product marketing and consumer research teams, which are comprised of both new recruits and Credit Karma veterans looking to learn from the best. You should have a strong interdisciplinary background (specialization is for insects, after all), and be equally comfortable with driving customer insights and analytics as with storytelling and understanding consumer problems. We’re looking for someone who gets excited to explore, understand and solve real consumer financial problems--that’s what we’re in the business of here at Credit Karma.

What The Job Entitles:

  • Sit on the marketing leadership team and influence strategy for the marketing organization as a whole
  • Lead a team of product marketing managers who are deeply integrated with vertical-specific product teams and act as the “CMO” for each of those products
  • Manage the internal research team, providing strategic direction and professional mentor ship as they support product, marketing and business development activities through primary research efforts
  • Work cross functionally with product, business development, engineering and marketing teams to create products that drive business results and help Credit Karma members
  • Become the primary driver of integration of brand into the product, working closely with the brand team to develop strategies for having our product and marketing support one another
  • Champion the use of personal and customer insights in creative work

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 10+ years of product marketing and research experience
  • Is passionate about and has a deep understanding of software product development
  • Enjoys switching contexts and being able to think about strategy, positioning, go-to-market planning, research and results
  • Has demonstrated thought leadership in a product marketing function at a consumer-centric environment (B2C)
  • Is a value proposition expert: able to synthesize and articulate clear values based on customer insights Has proven experience to develop and execute go-to-market strategies
  • Has strong familiarity with a wide variety of marketing channels and their effectiveness
  • Is equally comfortable with qualitative and quantitative research
  • Partners well with product stakeholders to build consensus
  • Enjoys thinking about the consumer need and journey--probably reads articles about it in their time off
  • Has the proven ability to understand the effectiveness of programs
  • Exudes an executive presence with a “lead by example” leadership style
  • Is the person everyone loves to work with and feels they can rely on
  • Demonstrates strong mentorship skills
  • Hits deadlines and builds consensus with stakeholders when trade offs are necessary
  • Stellar bass player a plus (We need one for the Credit Karma band. Seriously--we have a band.)
