Senior Software Engineer - Notifications Platform

The Notifications Platform team at Credit Karma is responsible for delivering millions of email and push notifications to our members every day. We process millions of events per day and make decisions on when and how to send relevant messages that provide the highest value to our members. As part of the team, you will help drive member engagement and retention on the platform. ​You'll work in a collaborative and inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and continuous learning, and opportunities for career growth.

What You'll Do

  • Drive a technical vision - influence the direction of our platform with your own ideasLead key efforts from scaling the notifications platform to designing and developing microservices
  • Take an active role in the technical growth of team members, and the processes that support overall team growth
  • Scope  and plan work on multi-team efforts, working closely with business partners to define a vision in technical terms, and plan implementation and delivery

What We're Looking For

  • Professional experience developing large-scale, high-volume services
  • Knowledge in microservice architectures, messaging patterns, deployment models
  • Professional experience across the entire software development process, from development environment, to CI & CD, to production deployment, and performance measurement
  • Approach problems with a pragmatic, analysis driven approach - understand trade-offs between perfection and time, with an eye towards iterative delivery, and use this capacity to plan and deliver on requirements
  • Confident articulating complex technical content to peers and partners
  • Proven ability and interest in mentorship of junior engineers
  • Ability to work autonomously, focusing on key outcomes amidst competing priorities
  • Languages: Scala or Java or OOP
