Senior Business Development Manager, Canada

Credit Karma is seeking an analytical, driven and results-oriented individual to accelerate our business growth by deepening relationships with existing financial institution partners, developing new relationships, and being a strategic thought leader for how to better serve our partners and our members.  Given your expertise in digital marketing, consumer lending, and strategic thinking, you will work cross-functionally with product, analytics and marketing teams to help shape the overall strategy for Credit Karma Canada.

This position will be based in San Francisco, but will require frequent travel to Canada.

What the job entails:

  • Lead communications and serve as primary point of contact for financial institution partner relationships
  • Promptly, professionally and thoughtfully manage partner needs and requests in a fast-paced environment. Also has the ability, acumen and comfort to know when and how to say “no” to partners when necessary
  • Leverage internal and external data to develop business recommendations that generate value for credit card partners and Credit Karma
  • Partner with internal Operations team to ensure high-quality delivery of our partners' marketing strategies
  • Regularly review performance dashboards to identify and escalate business opportunities and risks
  • Use business acumen, analytical skills and relationship experience to market and execute complex initiatives, such as onboarding new partners or developing integrations with existing partners
  • Ability to execute cross-functionally within our organization while multi-tasking various internal and external requests, you are the hub of many spokes within CK
  • Play a key role in guiding strategy for Canada by providing perspectives regarding industry trends, competitive dynamics, and partner needs/priorities to your cross-functional teammates   

Our ideal candidate:

  • Has 7+ years of work experience, specifically with 3+ years of experience in credit card or financial product customer acquisition, media buying or digital marketing
  • Proven success working in a startup environment is ideal. Thrives in ambiguity -- can independently and thoughtfully develop and implement recommended approaches to complex problems
  • Hands-on knowledge of the Canadian market is ideal
  • Proven success creating brand new partnership opportunities that drove tangible results and deep partner satisfaction is a must
  • Adept at collecting, analyzing and synthesizing data to support strategies and communications internally and externally
  • Incredibly responsive and solution-oriented -- operates at a high tempo and has an unrelenting drive to see efforts through to positive impacts on our members and partners
  • Both curious and creative, consisting seeking out ways to improve our partnerships and business  
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and assert influence internally/externally
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field from an accredited college or university; MBA or related Master’s degree is ideal
