Manager, Business Development

Credit Karma is seeking an analytical, driven and results-oriented individual to help lead its partnerships and business forward.  In this role, you will use your relationship management experience to develop and deepen partnerships with a broad range of partners, from startup fintechs to the largest financial institutions in the world.  Given your expertise in our partners and their markets, you will work cross-functionally with product, analytics and marketing teams to help shape the overall strategy for the verticals that you support.  Through your efforts developing our partnerships, you will be helping make financial progress possible for Credit Karma's more than 60 million members.   

What the job entails

  • Evangelize Credit Karma to current and prospective financial services partners, establishing and developing partnerships that power the ecosystem of financial products available on Credit Karma
  • Use business acumen, analytical skills and relationship experience to market and execute complex initiatives, such as onboarding new partners or develop integrations with existing partners
  • Play a key role in guiding strategy for your vertical by providing perspectives regarding industry trends and partner needs/priorities to your cross-functional teammates   
  • Promptly, professionally and thoughtfully manage partner needs and requests in a fast-paced environment

  • Executive presence with the ability to succinctly, confidently and articulately defend and challenge positions in verbal and written communications   
  • Incredibly responsive and solution-oriented -- operates at a high tempo and has an unrelenting drive to see efforts through to positive impacts on our members and partners
  • Hyper-focused on partner satisfaction and substantial experience developing and managing complex relationships, preferably proven by at least 4-5 years of experience in a client or partner-facing role in a sales/consulting/business development capacity
  • Thrives in ambiguity -- requires minimal oversight and can independently and thoughtfully develop and implement recommended approaches to complex problems
  • Able to quickly understand partners' businesses and priorities and use that knowledge to advance the goals of our partners and our business
  • Both curious and creative, consisting seeking out ways to improve our partnerships and business  
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and assert influence internally/externally
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented -- able to successfully manage complex projects
  • Team player that doesn’t view fun and work as mutually exclusive  
  • Prior digital marketing experience a plus
