Outbound Sales Representative- Cox Business


Promotes, sells, and retains commercial business solutions for voice, data and video. Target customers include small, medium and large businesses, educational, government, carrier and national accounts, as well as other specific market verticals (such as hospitality).

1-Based on revenue targets assigned, sells bundled telephony, data and video products to existing/new commercial business customers via telephone, internet or email. May include inbound and outbound calling.

2-Renews, retains, and up-sells existing commercial business customers.

3-Understands communication needs of business customers to determine appropriate solution.

4-Develops and maintains relationships with customers.

5-Sells within the product pricing and campaign structure authorized.

6-Work with support personnel to determine appropriate solutions where necessary.

7-Serves as main point of contact with customer ensuring customer satisfaction through the entire sales cycle.

8-Remains current on technical information regarding Cox’s products and services as well as the competitive landscape.

9-Maintains consultative sales and negotiation skills through ongoing training and development. 10-Enters sales opportunities into sales database.

11-Forwards ROI assessments to appropriate manager when required.

14-Serve as the customer point of contact for support of the CB project from initial sale through installation and billing (CB Coordinator Is support smaller/less complex projects in general while CB Coordinators IIs support larger/more complex projects).

15-Provide process and regulatory knowledge as needed during the pre-sale phase to help ensure the details of the order package are fully defined and captured and that necessary paperwork is completed

16-Contacts business customers and schedules installations, maintains communication regarding installation, and obtains additional customer information as needed to ensure that HFC installations and orders are accurately set up and coordinated

17-Determines serviceability of a customer location and trouble shoots workflow delays to help ensure customer¿s services are delivered on time

18-Conducts methods and procedure, order content and customer information analysis

19-Performs quality control checks on all orders and project content, including validation of DTW & other provision information 20-Enter customer order data and billing information into ICOMS and OPTIX in an accurate and timely manner


Typical Training / Experience – HS diploma, GED or relevant work experience; Technical certification or Associates degree may be preferred and/or required in some areas; 5-7 years of experience in related area of responsibility Dept/Org Scope & Impact – Senior support roles highly experienced in area of responsibility; Performs all of the standard and some specialized more complex aspects of the function; increases department or area impact Problem Complexity – Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems independently; May modify processes to resolve situations Autonomy – Under limited supervision, relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine best approach to achieve desired outcomes. Course of action is often determined by interpreting procedures and policies; Work typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor/manager or direct ‘customers’ of the process Knowledge – Thorough knowledge of tasks and responsibilities. Effectively applies skills in accomplishing tasks Influence/People Leadership – Is sought out and/or assigned to provide general guidance/direction, training, and technical assistance to junior level support personnel; Contributes to employees’ professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority
