Manager, Consumer Insights



Purpose: This role is responsible forleading marketing research activities focused on Cox’s video, internet, hometelephone, and home security product lines. This position will focus onadvertising effectiveness testing, both qualitative and quantitative (40-50executions per year). The candidate will be responsible for recommending,conducting, analyzing, and summarizing market research, working with externalresearch suppliers as needed. The successful candidate will have experienceconducting market research as part of a high performing team and developingconsumer insight from qualitative and quantitative research.


  • Translate market research findings into conciseand actionable insights
  • Provide recommendations on all aspects of marketresearch across product offerings, customer lifecycle, sales channels, andcompetitors
  • Collaborate with internal clients (e.g., ProductMarketing, Product Development, Advertising, and Pricing teams) to betterunderstand research needs
  • Use market research expertise and area ofspecialization (e.g., segmentation, adaptive discrete choice) to determine bestresearch methods to generate the most meaningful results
  • Develop and execute action plan to completeresearch activities to collect statistically significant results
  • Conduct research on consumer attitudes andpreferences, including product, brand, and competitor attributes
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative consumerresearch to develop meaningful insights
  • Develop sampling requirements and partner with analyticsteams on sample management and e-mail deployment
  • Develop and execute custom research studiesleveraging Cox’s proprietary customer panel
  • Work effectively with external consumer researchsuppliers as needed



  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or researchfield or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in marketresearch, marketing, or product management in a competitive industry
  • Experience with advertising testing on clientside, supplier side or agency side
  • Specialization in at least one of the followingresearch areas: customer segmentation (including ethnographic / behavioralobservation), user experience, adaptive discrete choice, brand positioning andcommunication testing, buyer decision / value modeling
  • Extensive experience in statistics, researchmethodology, and a variety of exploratory data analyses and tools (e.g., SAS,SPSS)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, andPowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, andcollaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization
  • Creativity to come up with innovative researchsolutions


  • Master’s degree in social science research orMBA
  • Experience in a subscription-based business
