Associate Application Engineer


Cox Automotive is seeking a highly motivated individual to work with our IT Finance Systems teams to support the production billing operations of the Oracle Revenue Management and Billing (RMB) application. In this exciting opportunity, you will work with the very first Cloud Based platform for Oracle RMB. This is a mission critical, high visibility role that will support multiple internal business units as a member of the company’s Shared Services Group in the generation of all customer invoices and cash application file processes and reconciliations. To be successful in this role one must be able to work effectively in a fluid, fast-paced environment. This role requires good communication skills, both with team members and business contacts. In addition, the successful RMB Associate Application Engineer must be able to work with minimal supervision on multiple concurrent projects.


  • Perform all of ATG BU’s billing cycle IT Operations procedures including file generation and processing to support invoice generation and cash application activities and reconciliations
  • Work closely with external resources and vendors supporting RMB interface activities for inbound and outbound data through real time and batch interfaces
  • Meet or exceed established SLA’s for all BU’s
  • Support RMB Finance Department and BU end users
  • Respond quickly and effectively to RMB Production issues. Participate in on-call rotation as first point of contact for production support as needed
  • Log issue tickets timely for RMB defects
  • Provide operational status and metric information as needed
  • Demonstrate ability to complete individual tasks and goals according to timelines
  • Gain/Share knowledge by effectively documenting/updating current processes and run books
  • Gain knowledge of the design and development of all RMB interfaces between applications and all BU’s
  • Demonstrate experience in organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating one’s own work, and ability to multi-task successfully
  • Assist in the evaluation of business requests and risk mitigation
  • Participate in the design of new or changing programs
  • Execute moderately complex PL/SQL scripts for back end validation
  • Evaluate current processes and procedures to identify opportunities areas for improved efficiencies
  • Support internal and external IT audits (CEI, Deloitte), quarterly and annual


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industry experience. Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Information Systems or similar degrees
  • 1+ years of experience working with Oracle Databases and Unix
  • 1+ years of experience in solid (advanced skills) PL/SQL coding
  • 1+ years of experience working with Accounts Receivable (AR)/Billing systems or billing processes experience. Prefer experience working with Oracle AR or Billing systems or Zuora (future platform)
  • Excellent customer service and oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal direction, yet also able to work in team environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
