Public Relations Internship

As a public relations intern at COUNTRY Financial, you will work alongside our Advertising and Events team to:

  • Develop and create PR materials, including news releases, media talking points, social media posts and news columns
  • Assist with the planning and development of media campaigns, programs and events in communities served by our employees and financial representatives, including assisting with on-site media outreach at events
  • Assist with public relations campaigns aimed at increasing our thought leadership in financial security
  • Track traditional and social media mentions and report on key performance indicators


  • Pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Advertising, Journalism, Communication, Marketing, or a related field
  • Graduation date of August 2018 or beyond
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (including extensive knowledge of AP style)
  • Prior work or internship experience in a public relations, marketing, or communications role is preferred
  • Strong research skills via internet and social media outlets
  • Ability to effectively communicate with media and business partners via phone
  • Must be able to work full-time hours from May to August 2018. The internship may be extended part-time into the fall semester; depending on the availability of the student, the needs of the company, and strong work performance.
