Information Technology Internship - Bloomington, IL; Arden Hills, MN; Alpharetta, GA

COUNTRY Financial is offering various information technology internships in our Information Technology Services (ITS) division for summer 2017.

  • Interns will work with a project team, intern mentor and information technology management to gain valuable experience, and develop leadership, technical, analytical, communication and teamwork skills through challenging work assignments.
  • These are paid internships. Interns will be expected to work 38.75 hours per week during the summer. The internship may be extended part-time into the fall semester; depending on the availability of the student, the needs of the company, and strong work performance.
  • To be eligible for an internship, candidates must be pursuing a college degree for the duration of the internship.
  • This internship will be located in Bloomington, IL; Arden Hills, MN; or Alpharetta, GA. Eligible interns will have the option to utilize the COUNTRY housing assistance program and receive a stipend for the rent expense paid by COUNTRY directly to the housing company. More information regarding housing will be shared with candidates during the interview process.

Business Analyst

  • Business Analysts are responsible for understanding the core business capabilities for the business areas and functions that they are responsible for.
  • Will work with business leaders to understand business strategies, operations, and opportunities to develop technology capability roadmaps that are aligned with business roadmaps.
  • At a program and project level, Business Analysts are responsible for business case creation, scope management, stakeholder analysis, eliciting and documenting detailed requirements consumable by software developers, engineers and testers, and control plan development and monitoring.
  • Pursuing a degree such as Business Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Business or related fields
  • Communicate results clearly, both orally and using various data visualization techniques
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Access
  • Demonstrates ability to perform duties in an organized, logical and analytical manner
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail

Engineer

  • Engineers could be placed in Security, Networking, Telecommunications, Storage, Endpoints, and support roles. Engineers are responsible for ensuring the planning, selection, build, and maintenance of effective technology solutions that meet defined and emerging business capability needs in a cost effective way.
  • Engineers partner with IT Security Analysts and Enterprise Architects to establish, understand, and adhere to technical and IT security standards.
  • Engineers from different parts of ITS are involved in all aspects of the technology lifecycle to ensure that nonfunctional and functional requirements are adhered to in design and build so solutions are stable, secure, resilient, and perform well. Engineers ensure that systems are maintained and supported to run effectively in production.
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Networking, Computer/Software Engineering, or other technology related major.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows 7 computer environments
  • Knowledge of any of the following: BASH, KSH, PowerShell, Windows Server 2008/2012, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, IBM AIX, and Cisco IOS
  • Ability to troubleshoot and research issues independently
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be a motivated team player

Project Management

  • Project Managers are responsible for ensuring the on time and on budget execution of the agreed upon scope for programs and projects. This includes: planning, organizing, staffing, driving, executing, and monitoring project and program activities.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Access
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies
  • Ability to work independently and part of a project team
  • Demonstrates ability to perform duties in an organized, logical and analytical manner
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail

Security Analyst

  • Security Analysts participate in projects and assessments on risk.
  • Analyzes and defines security policies and standards.
  • Monitors, alerts and responds to security events.
  • Performs computer forensic and investigative activities; and penetration and vulnerability testing.
  • Defines and administers identity and access roles and workflows.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and 2012.
  • Knowledge of Linux/UNIX Operating Systems.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory domain concepts.
  • Understanding of networking concepts.
  • Understanding of database concepts.
  • Ability to create & maintain administrative scripts using various scripting languages.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical and business audiences.

Software Developers

  • Software Developers are responsible for building effective technology solutions that meet the defined business capabilities.
  • They partner with Engineering, IT Security and Enterprise Architecture to understand and adhere to established technical and IT security standards.
  • Software Developers are involved throughout the systems development life cycle to ensure the development of effective solutions that meet both functional and nonfunctional requirements so they are stable, secure, resilient, and perform well.
  • They support implementation activities in line with release and change management processes.
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science and/or Business related majors with a strong technology interest
  • Proficient with one of the following languages: Java, .NET Framework, PHP, JavaScript
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows 7 computer environments
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 2007/2010 programs
  • Able to troubleshoot and research issues independently
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
