We are looking for a Principal Scientist to join our Face Category as a key expert who will technically lead our formulation platform team. Reporting to the Director of Face Innovation and Product Design, you will focus on substrate research, new materials and technology application sciences and help support our product development team input new ideas in line with category & brand strategies.

In this role you will be responsible for:
Creating technical formulation solutions for the category, specifically in substrate science, new technology opportunities, translating consumer tension points with a specific focus on Face Category (Liquid and Powder).
Accountable for data driven analysis to support Face category strategy.
Collaborating internally and externally (suppliers) to create and deliver robust and sustainable formulation support for Face product development
Collaborate with upstream team to translate projects into formulation platforms & help deliver lead region for new to world technology.
Managing and coordinating Formulation Platform projects for Face Category
Managing team of formulation platform scientists by allocating work schedule, provide training & development, product testing KPI's and supporting performance reviews.
Creating regular progress reports and provide an education platform for cross category learning
Developing team in robust formulation platforms, education and testing KPIs to insure deliverance of end consumer benefit
Build strong capabilities for modeling/DOE (i.e sensory attributes & rheology science aligned to consumer understanding and experience)
Support reduction of complexity through scale and provide data to utilize existing technologies in optimal ways delivering innovation in color cosmetics.

We'd like to see candidates who have:
Demonstrated broad and in-depth knowledge of raw materials, polymer technology and emulsion
technology that can be applied to color cosmetic formulations.
Good ability to perform DOE, modelling & testing, risk analysis, formulation technology road mapping for pipeline management and ROI.
Minimum 7 years' experience as a Technical Colour Cosmetic professional in the Beauty industry.
Experience in leading upstream developments from Concept phase to in-market delivery (including troubleshooting and problem solving experience)
Track record of successful in market technical innovations in beauty industry
Experience and strength in collaboration with both internal (including Marketing, Procurement and Manufacturing) and external stakeholders (including suppliers)
Able to travel when required by strategic programs (global suppliers, Coty plants)
Professional fluency in English
Academic qualifications: Minimum of Masters in Science or equivalent
