THE ROLE
As part of our Wella R&D organization in Darmstadt, Germany, you will support the global Wella businesses hands-on in the GC, HPLC, and/or LC-MS laboratories. In your role you will develop and validate analytical methods and perform measurements for the characterization of cosmetics including hair colorants, as well as substrates. You will manage lab infrastructure with sensitive instrumentation and data bases and assume responsibility for inventory and chemicals. The successful candidate should be excited by analytical problems and have real passion for the practical laboratory work. The work directly enables new product development, mechanistic insight, toxicological assessments, and registration with authorities in key global markets, raw material supplier qualification as well as quality control.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver highly accurate and precise measurementsin a highly agile R&D Analytical environment with frequently changing priorities
- Develop and validate new analytical methods
- Drive lab digitization, data integrity, and documentation in line with QA deliverables and Cosmetics GMPs
- Organize and coordinate the laboratory infrastructure including care and maintenance of the measuring and sample preparation instruments
- Assume responsibility for technical and administrative tasks within the R&D team

Key Requirements:
- University degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, chemical engineering, or similar
- Proven track record in developing, executing, and validating chromatographic analytical methods, including HPLC and GC, ideally with MS detection
- Experienced working against quality criteria, applying technical rigor and precision with attention to detail.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills, with a passion for practical laboratory work.
- Experience in maintaining analytical lab infrastructure including data processing and small repairs. Affinity to IT.
- Collaboration skills, demonstrating proactivity, agility, and initiative. Ability to communicate effectively with partners in the team.
