Product Manager - Infrastructure & Operations (Santa Monica, CA)

Cornerstone OnDemand is looking for a passionate and driven Infrastructure & Operations Product Manager.

You will lead the planning, development, and launch of advanced technology to scale Cornerstone's enterprise application. We design, run, and maintain an application that serves tens of millions of users world-wide. We have a need to migrate the application from hosted data centers to AWS. To accomplish this, we are evolving the infrastructure that serves internal developers and end users alike to run essential services, power alerting, connect to cloud databases, and create secure tunnels to on-premises data stores. We need a smart, product-driven technical leader.

A deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, experience scaling web applications to millions of users, and a track record of designing for resiliency are required. If you are the kind who can talk in detail about CAP Theorem or argue about the pros and cons of why one might choose Kafka over Kinesis for implementing a message broker, this job is for you.

You will work directly with Engineering teams as well as senior Product leaders. Together you will create, design and deliver the next generation of cloud infrastructure. There will be complex and interesting challenges requiring dynamic prioritization of the work necessary to power the growth of the product and business.

In this role you will...

  • Define product roadmap and strategy by articulating the business value and cost of planned features
  • Manage projects from idea inception through release by identifying and managing dependencies within and across releases and cross-functional teams, defining and tracking milestones, and operationalizing features
  • Interface with internal Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Sales teams and external prospects, customers, and analysts to gather requirements and use cases
  • Define and execute on projects by creating user stories, creating acceptance criteria, and defining success metrics
  • Support cross-functional teams that help bring the product to market, such as Marketing, Sales, Training, and Support services

You've got what it takes if you have...
  • Masters or Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field required; MBA preferred
  • Confirmed ability to write and understand code for automation, data analysis, or prototyping product features
  • Have meaningful experience designing, building, instrumenting, and supporting distributed systems on at least one major cloud provider, such as AWS
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to be an influencer among Engineering and Product leadership
  • Polished presentation skills for internal engineering and external, non-technical customer audiences
  • Ability to have technical conversations with Engineering and up level that while talking to cross-functional teams and customers
  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights
  • Partner with Engineering teams to manage the roadmap and prioritize feature requests based upon the business value and impact, weighed against the risks and development cost
  • Function within Agile principles: Focus on the business need; Deliver on time; Never compromise quality; Build incrementally from firm foundations; Develop iteratively; Communicate continuously and clearly
