Digital Marketing Strategist (Santa Monica, CA)

Cornerstone OnDemand is searching for a Digital Marketing Strategist who will be responsible for ongoing build out, optimization, support, measurement and insights for the company's online marketing channels (SEO, SEM, display, retargeting, and more). This position will report to Associate Director of Online Marketing, and they will work together to build out an online strategy.

In this role you will...

  • Website:
    • Responsible for development, implementation, and maintenance of the Cornerstone small business website:
      • Content development and updates
      • Reporting on key metrics, heat maps, etc.
      • Work with corporate marketing for design and technology updates
      • Optimize copy
      • Monitors web traffic
      • Ensures that the site meets the business needs of the organization
      • Partner with internal development teams and outside agencies to prioritize and manage site improvements and updates
      • Manage and implement conversion tracking
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
    • Monitor trends on SEO best practices and techniques to ensure top website ranking
    • Identify new opportunities, proactively research SEO issues and formulate solutions
    • Supporting Site Search strategy and results through keyword research, copy creation, copy localization, query analysis, conversion tracking
    • Managing on-site optimization to ensure that pages are accurately indexed by search engines
    • Monitor Organic Search performance of Cornerstone Small Business and top competitor sites daily
    • Optimize internal linking structures to maximize rankings across our keyword portfolio
    • Create and deliver recurring SEO performance reports, provide actionable insights for senior executives and stakeholders collaborate on quarterly SEO progress reviews and forecasts
    • Staying current with all search engine algorithm changes, SEO industry trends and regularly informs and educates the rest of the company on emerging SEO technologies, opportunities and best practices
    • Personalization - creating a personalized experience for organic visitors of the website
  • Digital Advertising
    • Develop and execute on a holistic global digital marketing strategy for the Cornerstone SMB products
    • Monitor Pay-Per-Click campaigns using Google AdWords and Bing Ads
    • Develop and execute on LinkedIn campaigns
    • Manage ABM digital campaigns with partners like DemandBase
    • Monitor daily performance metrics to understand PPC performance
    • Provide PPC expertise for keyword research, reporting, conversion goals, and on-page optimization
    • Increase quality score
    • Collaborating with marketing managers on developing content for landing pages around specific keywords
    • Creating campaigns, ad groups and text ads using several search engine interfaces
    • Providing competitive insight and analysis
    • Investigating new performance media opportunities and make recommendations
    • Implementing test initiatives such as landing page A/B testing, multivariate testing and offer testing
    • Executing aspects of daily campaigns including adjusting cost per click bids, daily budgets, turning on/off ad groups, keywords and text ads to ensure impression goals are met
    • Organize and manipulate large data sets in Excel
    • Partner with external agencies on the execution of ad campaigns
    • Develop marketing reports and present to key stakeholders
    • Monitor and recommend other digital platforms for marketing opportunities

You've got what it takes if you have...
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Marketing or equivalent work experience
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of SEO/PPC experience
    • 3+ years of Google AdWords & Bing Ads experience
    • 3+ years of Google Analytics experience
    • 3+ years of HTML/CSS experience preferred
    • Working with an Online Marketing Agency
    • Demonstrable track record of business results through SEO/PPC
    • Quantitative, pragmatic, and methodical in your approach to SEO/PPC
    • Invigorated, not intimidated, by large volumes of data and keywords
    • Excellent analytical abilities to grasp the key points from complicated details
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a cross functional team environment required
    • Advanced knowledge or Microsoft Office Word and Excel
    • Strong organizational & time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks
    • A results-oriented individual who thrives working in a fast-paced environment

    • Strong marketing analytical skills
    • Ability to clearly communicate and deliver insights and findings
    • Ability to work independently
    • Highly detail oriented
    • Strong strategic thinking skills
    • Excellent writer and editor with strong command of the English language

    • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
    • Can work independently with little direct supervision; creative and self-motivated
    • A deep understanding of SEO and Google's Algorithms
