INFRASTRUCTURE & PROCESS BUSINESS ANALYST

Continuum's Help Desk provides real-time 24x7 support to thousands of client desktops and devices around the United States and other countries. Reporting directly to the Help Desk Vice President, this specialized Business Analyst will focus on both Business and Data Analyst responsibilities. They will help create and manage global, standardized key performance indicators as they relate to corporate strategy, service, or financial metrics. This person will work with other management teams to provide in-depth analysis of key corporate data. They will also be responsible for reconciling, summarizing and analyzing production efficiencies and costs, and providing management with timely reporting and support.

Responsibilities

  • Familiarity with data mining techniques and statistical analysis (hadoop, scikit learn, R)
  • Familiarity with various data structures and common methods for ingestion and data transformation (Avro, Sqoop)
  • Pattern recognition and predictive modeling skills
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java/Python
  • Enforces a global standardized dictionary of nomenclature and terminology for definitions within the organization when it comes to metrics
  • Aids in the creation of reporting around key performance indicators for the various functional areas (departmental, regional, or other business areas) within the company
  • Creates mathematical models that enable key predictors of the corporation in relation to service or to the business units
  • Performs data mining on available data to build aforementioned reports and mathematical models. Works with the IS department in the realization of new BI and reporting technologies
  • The person will become the expert for reporting in their area of responsibility
  • When the person leads a project, he/she will be responsible for managing the activities required to meet the project's objectives within the constraints of an allowed budget and a desired timeline
  • Maintain close relationships with business personnel in order to understand changing business requirements and drive adoption to standard reporting practices

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a BS in business, mathematics, or related studies; 5+ years of experience in roles with heavy business analysis requirements.
  • Experience using Microsoft SQL server Business Intelligence Development Studio.
  • Experience in developing data extraction packages using SSIS.
  • Experience in developing reports design and development using SSRS.
  • Experience in Cube design and development using SSAS.
  • Full Life Cycle Experience in Model, Design, Development of Data warehouse/ETL/BI Solutions.
  • Strong Back End development skills and knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or others).
  • Good Database development experience for both OLTP & OLAP Systems.
  • Build SQL to conduct statistical analysis.
  • Project planning, requirements gathering and analysis, test plan development.
  • Self-discipline and motivation.
  • Process oriented and customer focused.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Workforce Planning in a 24x7 Service or Help Desk Desk/Support Center
  • Experience supporting multiple international locations preferred
  • Knowledge of advanced mathematics, including differential equations, linear algebra, advanced statistics, probability theory, optimization, and modeling
  • Knowledge of advanced data structures, including relational databases
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL (2000-2013), SharePoint (2010, 2013), SSRS, and various BI platforms a plus
  • Knowledge of advanced mathematical software (Mathcad, Matlab, Mathematica, Minitab, or SAS) a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel including PowerPivot, Access)
  • Superior analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Willingness to learn a broad set of business and operational metrics, including sales, finance, and supply chain management
  • High intellectual curiosity and a proactive self-starter
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Quick learner – able to learn organization, new analytical approaches and tools
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Other requirements as deemed necessary by management
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership to fulfill company goals
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to complete projects with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple job functions to ensure deadlines are met
  • Knowledge of operational call center business processes and factors affecting service levels.
