Senior Designer

The Senior Designer will be responsible for leading the design of Compass, including the look, feel and communications of everything under the Urban Compass brand - for the Dallas-Fort Worth region.

Compass is changing the way that people buy and sell their homes. We’re interested in Designers who have deep digital and social experience, as well as the ability to think and design at a very high visual level. The length of your experience isn’t as important as what you’ve actually worked on. You have creative ideas, have worked collaboratively on a team, and have solved different types of challenges.

What We're Looking For:

  • Top design skills and a portfolio to prove it.

  • Required: Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, Design and Visual Communication, Communications Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.

  • Like to get your hands dirty and are prolific with your design output.

  • Passionate about design, telling product stories, and solving problems for people.

  • Excellent typography and iconography skills.

  • Experience with motion design and its use in video storytelling and in bringing digital products to life.

  • Enjoy the process of getting and giving feedback from both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to speak not just passionately about your design work but also plainly to those who are inexperienced.

  • Comfortable with both designing initial concepts and taking chunks of design that have already been defined.

  • Ability to explore many ideas at once, without spending too long on any one concept.

  • Able to learn from mistakes and misfires and come back stronger for it.

  • Passionate about mentoring and collaborating with other designers.

  • Experience managing Designers and leading project teams

  • Currently authorized to work in the United States.

  • Solid intuition and strong passion for detailed interaction design

 At Compass You Will:

  • Design, design, design, design

  • Collaborate with the Head of Creative & Marketing and Head of Product to provide strategic thoughts around the best possible creative ideas.

  • Develop new original concepts and then execute the visual design to bring ideas to life.

  • Oversee the use and continued development of the Compass brand and visual language.

  • Control of the style guide and the upkeep of all brand design.

  • Design new graphical work of all kinds including print (posters, advertisements, magazine ads etc), motion graphics (title design, Instagram videos, animated infographics etc), marketing materials, sales presentations and more more more

  • Design new digital products and improvements to the existing products

  • Work with producers to recruit and manage freelance creative talent

  • Mentor existing design talent to improve their skills
