Marketing Manager- Events

Compass seeks a Marketing Manager of Events based in our San Francisco office to join the team and contribute to our national event strategy and recruiting initiatives. In this role you will plan, develop, execute, and track the ROI on national and regional recruiting events.

You will work collaboratively with the industry’s best in-house marketing team, sales team, creative studio and communications team to coordinate event details from the invitation aesthetic to the itinerary and day of production, as well as how we communicate the event to drive awareness and attendance pre and post event. You will actively source and manage vendors such as rentals, florists, food/beverage, lighting, chefs, workout enthusiasts and AV prior to each event. This person should have deep experience with negotiations, client management, technical understanding, Salesforce, and advanced taste and aesthetic qualities to assure the premier level of all events. This person should have experience working with sales team and a deep understanding of how to best track the ROI of events.

Event programs will include small scale intimate recruiting events to large scale national events and conferences in various markets for 6000+ agents with a unique offering of keynote speakers, physical fitness activities, networking events and listing tours.

At Compass You Will:

  • Liaise between marketing, strategic growth, creative, communications, recruiting, HR, product, agent operations, and advertising teams
  • Work closely with the Strategic Growth department to understand the goals of the business and the ideal attendees to maximize the return on Compass’ investment
  • Communicate nationally with all Compass offices to ensure we have sufficient lead times around each event
  • Develop a clear and effective RSVP process that delivers on attendance results flawlessly
  • Plan, develop and execute small scale and large scale national and regional events
  • Provide detailed post-event reports by conducting surveys, gathering stakeholder feedback and creating action plans around improvement following all activations
  • Pre-production event management including coordinating speaker details, session flow, travel schedules, presentations and more
  • Research, consult, track, and determine the best vendors, maintaining an excellent rapport in order to maximize efficiencies across multiple markets
  • Measure effectiveness of Future of Real Estate events in terms of recruiting, overall attendance and other key identified metrics
  • Capture and report on attendance, impressions, reach, and referrals
  • Create and maintain event emails that support SGM team goals
  • Contribute to developing business model and budget around national events
  • Source and secure in kind sponsorships when fit
  • Monitor efforts and behavior of the agents at the events and analyze results to determine their effectiveness and inform future activations
  • Work with the Product team to assure all integrations with the site are effective prior to each event to help handle tracking of attendees, etc
  • Evangelize events and performance internally to all key stakeholders
  • Manage budgets and create tracking spreadsheets for various needs related to events to ensure we remain at or below budget
  • Set-up meetings with potential speakers, thought leaders, facilitators and any other talent required to ensure a successful event and manage all communications and production details with talent or representatives throughout the process

What We’re Looking For:

  • A minimum of 6 years of Event and/or marketing experience
  • A unique skill set that combines an extremely detailed person
  • An eye for design and the keen understanding of how great visuals can elevate an event concept to the next level
  • Ability to work independently, taking ownership over execution
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Adept project manager; impeccable time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Must be comfortable conversing with vendors over the phone and face to face with continuous follow-up
  • Must be a self-motivated team player that is able to constantly multi-task and work well under intense time-lines
  • Skilled communicator with great interpersonal skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and highly organized
  • Understanding of marketing strategy and planning with the ability to identify the right fit for partnerships and sponsorships
  • Excellent writing skills and grammar
  • Execution oriented
  • Experience working in a client or account service environment a plus
  • Experience working with Salesforce a plus
  • Experience working in real estate marketing, and/or at a luxury brand a plus
  • Proficient in the suite of office tools from Apple, Google and Microsoft Excel
