The Director of Strategy & Planning, Operations will play an important and influential role in helping Compass achieve this mission. As the Director of Strategy & Planning, Operations, you’re a strategic thinker and project manager who is passionate about solving the most important business and organizational problems at a hyper-growth, scaling company. You will work collaboratively alongside the Operations leadership team and Chief Business Officer to drive our business forward. In this role you will be required to move faster than you previously thought possible, dream big, and juggle competing priorities while maintaining an extremely high quality output.

What you will do: 

  • Lead our project management office and business intelligence & analytics team
  • Lead and manage cross-functional initiatives, with a focus on end-to-end project management
  • Lead strategic initiatives to build scale into the business and drive operational excellence (e.g., automation, productization, offshoring, centralization, process/role standardization, organizational design, etc.)
  • Work alongside functional leaders across product, engineering, business development, finance, legal and human resources to help drive the most important company priorities forward
  • Run success definition and management, namely, how we build dashboards and measure success; manage and continually improve reporting, dashboards and KPIs
  • Build, streamline processes where it doesn’t already exist and create organizational scale/leverage
  • Provide valuable analytical and qualitative insights, leveraging IQ and EQ
  • Act as a thought partner to the Chief Business Officer and Operations Leadership Team
  • Provide strong, low-ego leadership

Who you are: 

  • Extensive experience in management consulting, finance or business operations at high-growth, scaling company
  • 8-10+ years of work experience, preferably 2-4 years of working directly with senior executives
  • Significant people management and project management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and improve processes and organizational design 
  • Experience consistently influencing teams to successful outcomes
  • Excellent communicator who can effectively manage multiple stakeholders
  • Strong problem resolution, analytical and quantitative skills; detail-oriented strategic thinker 
  • Solution-oriented mindset and work approach, glass half full mentality
  • Charisma and a natural ability to connect with others; strong leadership and mentorship skills
  • Agile and organized working style to manage and consistently prioritize key initiatives
  • Thrives in ambiguity
  • Ability to learn quickly and maintain a high-performance level in a fast-paced, high volume environment
