Accounts Payable Manager - New York City


This individual will be responsible for overseeing all accounts payable related activities across the United States including, supplier management/administration, invoice receipt and processing, payment processing/disbursements as well as reconciliations. These activities are being performed by an internal accounts payable team based in New York, supported by an outsourced team in India. The individual will also partner with the accounting team and various functions across the organization to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures and continuous improvement projects are achieved. The individual would be accountable to resolve any issues, escalations or contract disputes as it relates to accounts payable.

Key Accountabilities

  • Single-point owner for accounts payable, accountable for building, standardizing and maintaining accounts payable processes throughout the business operating model
  • Responsible for the end-to-end strategic and transactional accounts payable processes as it relates to finance, operations, people, technology, data and performance management throughout the organization
  • Align accounts payable strategic initiatives for people, policies and technology across markets
  • Manage accounts payable functions including supplier management/administration, invoice receipt and processing, payment processing/ disbursements, as well as reconciliations
  • Oversee the day to day accounts payable activities performed by the outsourcing team as well as the inhouse team
  • Monitor the performance of the outsourced team, review SLAs and recommend process improvement
  • Work with the operational teams across the United States
  • Provide excellent customer service by proactively managing issue resolution
  • Drive process improvement and re-engineer accounts payable procedures toward a standard solution
  • Oversee the 1099 filing process

Job Requirements & Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business, Management, or other related fields.

Previous Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience specifically in accounts payable
  • 4 or more years of supervisory experience
  • Experience working with/in consulting firms or large multinational businesses
  • Experience working across multiple geographical entities
  • Experience working in a multi-function shared services and/or outsourcing environment


  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a plus

  • Experience with Coupa and NetSuite, a plus
  • Experience with shared services/business process outsourcing finance support model
