The VP of Credit Risk will be responsible for ensuring the credit quality of the portfolio. This person will ensure that the credit policies for CommonBond‘s products produce loan portfolios within expectations while enabling business growth. Strong fluency in data & analytics will be foundational to this role. Experience with residential solar credit is a strong plus.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the executive team to align credit strategy with the overall goals of the organization.
- Analyze, develop, and propose value added risk strategies for CommonBond’s lending products.
- Provide insights and recommendations around portfolio quality, risks and opportunities, and underwriting policies and procedures.
- Establish the organization's tolerance for credit risk and establish policies governing the extension of credit.
- Keep updated on market dynamics and the economy to provide recommendations to manage the loan portfolio.
- Develop strategies for collections, recoveries, and fraud management to ensure that portfolio performance is within expectations.
Desired Qualifications:
- 10+ Years in Credit at a financial institution or a rating agency (or equivalent); and 5+ Years in Data & Analytics at an organization with a significant amount of consumer financial behavior data.
- Advanced degree in Finance, Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or another quantitative discipline, preferred.
- Deeply data-driven understanding of credit risk frameworks and best practices based on previous experience.
- Track record of strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

- Ability to take initiative and work independently with or without direction.
- Ability to prioritize multiple workstrems; flexible and adaptable to business requirements
You can work in our New York City HQ; or remotely from anywhere in the US (as long as you work east coast hours). As a heads up, due to the on-going pandemic of COVID-19, if you choose to work from our NYC HQ, it is likely that you’ll start working remotely.
