We are looking for an outstanding Director level candidate to support the Engineering Operations and the Data Product management for the X1 syndication program. This is a strategic role, reporting into the Ops Management lead within X1 Operations, andhas significant interaction with other departments and executives. We are seeking a strong, experienced leader and innovator interested in nimbly delivering value to our customers and partners.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of operations engineers, contributing to the success of the launch of the X1 Platform with our syndication partners
  • Responsible for supportive analytics and reporting, including daily/weekly product andoperationalmaterials, drafting presentations, creating dashboards for internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead the "Data as Product" initiative and act as the Data Product owner for the X1 Platform
  • Work closely with other product owners, staff and enterprise stakeholders to groom, prioritize, and execute sprint stories from the backlog, ensuring the successful adoption of Agile within the data product management team
  • Develop and own the "Data as Product" roadmap and set priorities for the company
  • Develop and manage relationship with syndication partners to ensure success in consuming data feeds
  • Act as the data evangelist with internal and external teams. Promote the use of technologies/products and support syndication partners with their BI strategy
  • Ensure the quality of data feeds and reporting and troubleshoot or help fix issues if necessary
  • Bringing new technical ideas and processes, in keeping with latest industry trends, to fruition by prototyping and incorporating them into the platform
  • Provide senior leadership in both Ops & Engineering with broad visibility into the backlog as well as sprint outcomes.
  • Ensure ITIL fundamentals are integrated into Scrum/Kanban stories, e.g. root cause analysis and standard, repeatable operating procedures
  • Negotiate and set annual goals and quantifiable success criteria with each of your direct reports, supported by periodic meetings to track progress.
  • Facilitate the submission of well-defined user stories to Engineering by maintaining a dedicated backlog
  • Ask insightful questions and leverage team strengths to expose and resolve operational and architectural challenges for data programs
  • Identify, communicate & manage dependencies, risks, & mitigation plans
  • Promote a collaborative environment that fosters creativity & innovation

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in managing the product lifecycle
  • Proven track record big data technologies (Hadoop, MapReduce, Avro, Flume, Spark)
  • Knowledge of AWS products (Kinesis, Redshift, CloudWatch)
  • Strong leadership abilities with a track record of delivering exceptional results and building a world-class team, as well as excellent cross-functional communication abilities
  • Familiar with Data Visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Familiar with the agile development methodology
  • Knowledge on cloud infrastructure and how to leverage on
  • Able to establish technical credibility quickly to earn trust and results
  • Genuine curiosity and a proven track record building motivated and collaborative teams
  • Able to flourish in a rapidly changing, matrix environment
  • Effective facilitator w/ excellent consensus building skills
  • Courageous, assertive and determined to remove impediments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and time management skills

Job Specification:

  • Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
  • Engineering, Computer Science
  • Generally requires 10+ years related experience
