Goodrich Hoist & Winch's Purchasing and Delivery Assurance Manager is a highly motivated, people leader responsible for owning and managing the tactical procurement team's people, performance, and suppliers. This individual reports to the Global Operations Lead who is accountable for OE and MRO operations, strategic and tactical supply chain, ACE (continuous improvement), and cost reduction. A successful candidate will utilize lean tools and processes within their departments and cross-functionally to improve their business' performance while working comfortably within a diverse, global matrix organization.
The Purchasing Manager will support the Collins Management System process by driving the supply base to align with customer demand managed by the Value Streams.
Primary Responsibilities
- Owns and leads the Purchasing process, including the Purchasing Tier 3 meeting
- Establishes performance objectives and drives action plans to closure
- Authorizes purchase orders, negotiates prices and approves payments to support the procurement process
- Ensures product is delivered on time, meets quality standards, and at the right cost
- Partners with customers and suppliers to understand needs and issues and ensure the business' customers receive satisfactory standards of goods and services
- Monitors and coordinates suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries to ensure resolution of problems such as shortages and missed or late deliveries
- Leads recovery activities to support customer and value stream delivery requirements utilizing line of balances and similar delivery assurance strategies
- Leads cost reduction efforts and process improvements to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness
- Analyzes and monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to help determine need for changes
- Increases the team's talent through training development
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
- Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
- Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder
Preferred Qualifications:
- The candidate will have 5+ years of related experience in positions of increasing responsibility in manufacturing/operations, supply chain management, finance, business strategy, or similar fields.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to lead cross-organizational teams and peers.
- Experience working with ACE or continue improvement systems while measuring performance through key metrics and quality management tools.
- Proven experience of developing, implementing, and executing a strategic plan through people leadership and leveraging continuous improvement tools and processes.
- People leader and change agent energized by opportunities to further the business and personal opportunities
- Familiar with aerospace or manufacturing processes, product, and requirements
- Knowledgeable across various types builds and sub assembly systems
- Self-directed; strong planning and organizational skills and able adapt to changing priorities and assignments and executing
- Excellent MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project)
- Exposure to ERP systems, SAP preferred
- Utilizes lean principles, a driver of improvement
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Good judgment and strong critical thinking skills
