The Heat Exchanger Project Engineer is responsible for working with the component project lead and assisting in execution of the development, design and certification program for the assigned heat exchangers. This includes detail planning and execution to assure that all critical program milestones are met and identifying the team resources required to execute the detailed component plan through design, development, manufacture, qualification and entry into revenue service.
The candidate for this co-op/intern position will work closely with an experienced Collins Project Engineer supporting heat exchanger component design and development for a high visibility systems for engines and new aircraft applications. The co-op/intern will work closely with the Integrated Development Team, reporting directly to the IPD lead. The co-op/intern will perform requirements assessments to assure that all customer and internal requirements are satisfied and will support preparation of test documentation. The co-op/intern will work closely with design to assure that key milestones are met and support creation of presentations and documentation for customer submittal.
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering although other engineering majors may be considered
- Have completed at least 2 years/4 semesters of college coursework by the beginning of internship
- Have a GPA of 3.0 or above
- Have strong organizational and presentation skills
- Have strong planning and scheduling skills
- Have strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Have strong English writing skills
- Be proficient with MS Office applications, especially MS Word and MS Excel
