We seek a collaborative and creative thinker to join the Services and Shared Infrastructure ( SSI ) team to help support our systems integrations and expanding information management systems. The Systems Integration Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Colgate mission by analyzing needs, providing technical guidance, helping with process improvement, and implementing solutions for academic and administrative areas of the university. This position is responsible for optimizing the user experience of assigned software and systems, developing sustainable integrations, developing operational reports, and developing in-house solutions when appropriate. The Systems Integration Analyst's primary accountabilities include becoming knowledgeable in Ellucian Banner, building and supporting integrations with third-party SaaS and other on-premise software solutions.
Accountable for supporting the Colgate mission by analyzing needs, providing technical guidance, helping with process improvement, and implementing solutions for academic and administrative areas of the university. Accountable for optimizing the user experience of assigned software and systems, developing sustainable integrations, developing operational reports, and developing in-house solutions when appropriate. Primary accountabilities include becoming knowledgeable in Ellucian Banner, building and supporting integrations with third-party SaaS and other on-premise software solutions.
Specific accountabilities include but are not limited to:
-Gather requirements, assess functional needs and provide technical consultation for existing and new processes and systems.
-Research, recommend and implement software solutions as part of a team. Maximize the usefulness and performance of assigned systems and integration points. Deploy new modules, upgrades, and fixes to assigned software applications and systems. Assist in establishing requirements, methods and procedures for routine maintenance.
-Develop custom solutions where necessary and appropriate. Perform testing, including error handling. Develop user guides and training documentation.
-Following generally accepted practices in programming and software development, develop system interfaces and system integrations.
-Participate in the development of contingency plans including reliable backup and restore procedures.
-Design, create and manage database structures in the development, testing, and production environment and monitoring.
-Work with end-users to design and create operational reporting solutions.
-Lead small projects and actively participate in assigned projects. Work with other staff members to meet task deadlines and communicate about the project status.

Professional Experience/ Qualifications
-One or more years of related professional experience, with an earned Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related degree, or an equivalent additional professional experience in essential duties and responsibilities.
-Basic proficiency in one or more of the following: Oracle (PL/ SQL ), SQL Server, MySQL, or other database technology.
-Basic understanding of object-oriented programming languages such as Java or C#, or other structured programming languages such as Python, PHP , Power Shell, etc.
-Understanding of relational databases and the ability to create and manage database structures as needed for development and troubleshooting.
-Basic understanding of APIs.
-Demonstrated excellence in client contact and strong communication skills.
-Demonstrated understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the academic, cultural and social diversity in the Colgate University community.
