This is a full-time position based in our DC office, we are not accepting applicants targeting remote work at this time

We are looking for an SEO/SEM expert to oversee SEO activities and provide recommendations for technical SEO improvements and content and link building best practices.

Responsibilities would include technical SEO and website audits to provide suggestions to our product team; keyword research and strategy to rank in SERPs and increase organic traffic for Clutch, The Manifest, and Visual Objects; and link building tracking and analysis to stay ahead of best practices and monitor effects of efforts. A plus is experience with Google Adwords paid search and remarketing.

Responsibilities
Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimization
Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords
Identify opportunities to improve crawling, page indexing and remapping, and URL structure updates
Work with the product team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented on newly developed code (i.e., site audits coinciding with all product updates and changes )
Work with marketing team to identify and implement link building strategy and best practices
Work with editorial and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation and content programming
Stay ahead of any Google algorithm changes: Research and implement search engine optimization recommendations
Guide paid search strategy alongside team leads and CEO

Requirements
3-5 years experience in a data-driven and technical SEO role
Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms
Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO and SEM
In-depth experience with industry tools (e.g., Moz, Ahrefs, SEMRush, BrightEdge, STAT, Google Search Console, ScreamingFrog, Deepcrawl, etc.)
Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. (Familiarity with Javascript frontend frameworks and their potential impact on SEO is a plus.)
Experience with analytics platforms like Google Analytics and Omniture
A strong understanding of search engine crawlers
Experience in or familiarity with canonicalization, client and server side redirects, pagination, crawl budget, xml sitemaps, etc.
Understanding of structured markup
Familiarity with featured snippets, rich snippets, and other SERP features
Demonstrated analytical skills and data-driven approach to problem solving
Ability to communicate technical issues and organic search and PPC strategies clearly to ensure teammates understand recommendations
Ability to report on results
Proven SEM experience defining a strategy for and executing Google Adwords PPC and remarketing campaigns is a plus
Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition is a plus
