We are looking for an exceptionally talented Corporate Counsel to join our legal team to focus on our employment law matters and work on an array of other legal matters. This is a highly impactful role; you will report directly to the General Counsel and will be responsible for providing legal counsel to a variety of stakeholders in our rapidly scaling organization. As a part of a small legal department, you will wear lots of different hats and work on a variety of legal matters, inclusive of employment law, the complex commercial contracts that drive our business, technology agreements, privacy, litigation, intellectual property, contract negotiations, etc.

The right person for this role thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively juggle multiple projects, knowing when to prioritize (and re-prioritize) as things change in our constantly evolving environment. You can build strong relationships with every member of an organization and can effectively collaborate with key stakeholders in order to solve intricate problems. You also care deeply about the employee experience, are extremely passionate about fostering a positive working environment for our team members, and understand how your role can positively impact an organization.

What you will do:

Review, draft, and negotiate potentially complex commercial agreements, such as professional service agreements, technology agreements, strategic partnership agreements and customer agreements

Provide advice and counsel to internal partners on wide array of business and contractual issues

Be responsible for all legal matters related to HR and talent. Provide pragmatic legal counsel on a full range of employment law issues, including hiring, performance management, compliance, investigations, and any related litigation

Stay abreast of relevant employment laws, regulations, guidelines and policies. Partner with the Talent and Ops teams to enhance and update legal/HR training and policies for our entire organization in order to mitigate risk and ensure we are 100% compliant with local laws  

Help develop and implement compliance programs, policies and training as needed

Contribute to the general legal and privacy practice at a cutting edge technology company

Identify and mitigate risk while being a strong business partner for all company stakeholders

 

Who you are:

You have a JD from a top law school and at least 6-8 years of experience working at a law firm or as an in-house counsel

You are used to working directly with your organization’s team members to minimize and resolve issues quickly and effectively

You have a proven track record of providing proactive, pragmatic legal counseling to business partners

You are a self-starter with a strong sense of urgency. You know how to act quickly and provide the appropriate counsel to internal stakeholders

You have sound judgment; you know how to resolve complicated matters while maintaining integrity and confidentiality

You have excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to facilitate collaborative solutions

You are an excellent communicator with impeccable written, verbal, and presentation skills
