People Operations Lead

In this role, your primary responsibilities will be creating an amazing place to work for everyone at Clara. You’ll be a liaison to, and advocate for the people; you’ll partner with the management team to implement programs for performance management and compensation review; you’ll oversee and directly impact our benefits offering and administration; and, you’ll be at the helm of building and implementing people programs that foster engagement, productivity and retention at Clara.   • Engage and influence leaders to drive innovative People initiatives across multiple teams
  • Manage and build out the People Operations team, including HR, recruiting, office management,  and administration, to meet Clara’s needs
  • Manage a metrics driven recruiting strategy and team finding top talent to add to Clara’s team
  • Work cross-functionally to implement People programs at Clara that foster employee engagement, happiness, productivity and retention
  • Implement programs for performance management, compensation review and processes for promotion that scale as we grow
  • Educate, coach and partner with managers on performance management and employee development goals
  • Ensure enrollment and compliance with federal and state programs
  • Maintain the accuracy and completeness of employees files and records
  • Analyze and interpret employee data (compensation, job levels, and attrition) to guide decision-making and prompt proactivity
  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits, and recommend the appropriate implementation of additional benefits as we scale
  • Partner with the legal and compliance team, finance and accounting, and IT on employee experience projects, process, and policies


  • You have 5+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner, ideally with experience at a rapidly-growing tech startup and support managing recruiting or hiring strategies
  • You have 3+ years of experience managing people
  • You are super organized and detail-oriented and have a high level of discretion around sensitive matters
  • You prefer working in a fast-paced environment and can easily adapt to changing priorities
  • You are a people person through and through: you’re comfortable talking to all kinds of people at all different levels about anything under the sun
  • You possess a deep working knowledge of core HR disciplines, systems and processes, including: compensation, organizational development, performance management, and employee engagement programs
  • You have proven experience designing and implementing people programs for growing, high-performing organizations
  • You are able to make complex concepts simple and understandable at different levels
  • You’re deeply analytical: excellent critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills - always with the employee in mind
  • You have a sincere passion for people, and business and bringing ideas into realities
