SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER (Architectural/Construction Management)
A Senior Project Manager is needed in the Design & Construction Division of the General Services Department!
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Manages the design and construction of major facility projects for multiple client departments; plans and develops scope, schedule and budget for facility projects; procures, negotiates and manages design, design-build, construction management at risk, and construction contracts; reviews design drawings; oversees construction; coordinates and manages internal and external stakeholders such as: IT Department, Security Management, property management etc.; ensures completed project work meets the required obligations under the contract. Develops and maintains good working relationship with clients and contractor representatives. A degree in Architecture, Construction Management or Project Management is highly preferred; along with management experience in the design and construction industry. Please submit resume.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The position requires stooping, bending and/or lifting of items of up to 30 pounds with occasional periods of walking on rough surfaces.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Physical Sciences or a closely related field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Six years of experience in construction, design or a closely related field required. Directly related professional experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
MINIMUM * LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:* Valid Texas Class C driver's license and compliance with the City of Houston Motor Vehicle Assignment and Use Policy (AP 2-2).
PREFERENCES: A degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or Project Management highly preferred; along with management experience in the design and construction industry.
Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
SALARY INFORMATION: $80,600.00 - $88,500.00 Annually
