DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assists in the support of certain daily functions within customer service section. Provides administrative guidance to customer service staff. Assists in the documentation and formulation of internal procedures and manuals. Assist supervisors with implementing and monitoring Customer Service projects. Creates and maintains various reports. Responds to customers' questions or concerns over the phone, face-to-face or via email. Performs other duties as requested.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The position is physically comfortable most of the time with occasional periods of stooping, bending and/or light lifting of materials of up to 10 pounds.

This is a Department of Houston Public Works Emergency Management position at the Tier II Level.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires a high school diploma or a GED.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) years of administrative or customer service related experience are required. Associate degree may be substituted for up totwo (2) years of experience. Bachelor's degree may be substituted for up to four (4) years of experience.

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Valid Driver's License and compliance with the City of Houston policy on driving (AP 2-2).

PREFERENCES

Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
