Position Summary
The Lead Adoption Specialist supports the key performance indicators that drive strategies around engagement and adoption, providing innovative solutions to drive meaningful value to the organization and to improve the quality of care for patients. This position works to develop and manage readiness and engagement programs aimed at ensuring safe and efficient use of the EHR. The Lead Adoption Specialist provides system expertise in the area of training, elbow support, consultation, coaching, mentoring, problem solving and report development. The primary focus of the Lead Adoption Specialist is on Physicians, Advanced Practice Professionals (i.e. P.A., N.P.), and nursing however, may also be called on to support other patient care disciplines. The Lead Adoption Specialist closely collaborates with the Physician Adoption Lead, Informatics, IT, Training, Physician Liaisons, Super Users and Key Stakeholders to help conduct in depth analysis on value realization of proposed needs within the EHR for various user roles. The Lead Adoption Specialist will build and nurture positive end user relationships and requires a strong customer service approach to problem solving. This position is responsible for overseeing metrics for adoption and engagement of the EHR system in the Inpatient and Ambulatory settings.

Lead and deliver continuous learning and education through front line support, classroom or individual session.
Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of EPIC and connected systems (Dragon, Sectra).
Key Responsibilities include:
- Implement methods for assessing and improving clinical users' utilization of the EHR and workflow to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Lead and coordinate end-user adoption to the current functionality of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and associated work flows.
- Lead and deliver continuous learning and education through front line support, classroom or individual session.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of EPIC and connected systems (Dragon, Sectra).
- Serve as a liaison to the clinical departments, application analysts and training team to create efficient workflows and look for opportunities for system changes/enhancements.
- Work closely with the Physician Liaisons, Super Users and training team to promote continuous learning.
- Serve as a change agent and communicate with users using multiple, innovative and non-traditional methods, demonstrating patience, establishing trust to promote positive outcome.
- Respond to issues, problem-solve with internal clinical, operations and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes and improve workflows.
- Monitor tickets with resolutions of either build enhancements or training and education needs.
- Proactively seek end-user offering advice for work flow improvements as an ongoing effort to improve efficiency and knowledge of the system.
- Develop measurable key performance metrics to ensure adoption is achieved and lead efforts to monitor and provide analytics on progress towards reaching goals and outcomes.
- Learn industry trends and recommend improvements of application, training and adoption.
- Provide regular status updates for all assigned tasks.
- Assist staff recruitment efforts.
- Accomplish other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Position may require travel between COH community clinics and its affiliates

- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Greater than 7 years of healthcare experience in area of expertise required.
Required Certification/Licensure:
- EPIC certification (may obtain in the 1st year).
Preferred education experience and skills:
- Master's in Nursing preferred
- Preferred good working knowledge of Epic features and functionality.
- Ability to translate user needs and train others.

- Ensure that proposed solutions align with the organization's mission, vision and values as well as the desired end state of an integrated electronic health record.
- Has clinical workflow knowledge. Must be aware of safety standards and understand patient privacy issues as mandated by HIPAA.
- Knowledgeable about policies, procedures and clinical practice guidelines.
- Demonstration of solid and effective written interpersonal, oral and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate and train in innovative, non-traditional and informative approaches.
- Ability to plan and facilitate meetings with diverse participants.
- Ability to monitor action items and ensure their completion.
- Must be able to prioritize, organize, assess and reallocate work in order to meet deadlines.
- Ability and commitment to meet aggressive deadlines and cope in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to analyze and document workflow and clinical processes.
- Ability to assess, analyze, represent and translate clinical needs/requirements into appropriate systems development requirements.
- Ability to evaluate, plan and mitigate impact of clinician workflow changes as a result of technology implementation.
- Is diplomatically savvy, with the ability to anticipate and diffuse resistance from peers.
- Ability to identify, analyzes, solve problems and focus on results through positive interactions. Ability to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor at all times during normal and pressure situations.
- Ability to conduct literature reviews, survey peer institutions and track industry trends, upon which to base recommendations.
- Able to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines.
